Body Contouring FAQ

Q: Am I a Good Candidate for Body Contouring?

The best candidate for these treatments is someone who is taking an active approach to making lifestyle changes for long-term solutions. They may be exercising and eating a proper diet but are still having problem areas. Another example is someone who just had a child, and got back in shape through diet and exercise but can't tighten the skin in certain areas. Body contouring is not suitable in areas that have:

Implants, Botox, or fillers, an individual who has not healed fully from cosmetic surgery

Q: Can I combine my body contouring treatments?

Many patients who receive body contouring may also be interested in stretch mark removal, cellulite reduction or one of the many treatments you offer. You can absolutely combine or modify treatments for multiple results.

Q: How quickly will I notice a change?

Gradual improvement of the treated area may be seen following the first treatment. The skin's surface may feel smoother, firmer, and tighter. Results in circumference and cellulite reduction are most apparent 5-7 days after each treatment. Remember this is a process; you will need to be patient with your body and allow time to reveal your new shape.

Q: How long can I maintain results?

Body Contouring treatments should be used as a tool to assist you in achieving your goals. Maintenance treatments are recommended periodically following the complete treatment regimen. Like all non-surgical techniques, results will last longer if you follow a balanced diet, exercise routine, vitamins and drink lots of water!

Q: Is the Treatment Safe?

Treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and body sizes as long as there are no underlining medical conditions. No long-term or short-term health effects have been reported.

Q: Does it hurt?

Most patients find Body Contouring to be comfortable, like a warm deep tissue massage. Body contouring is designed to be accommodating for comfort and sensitivity levels. All treatments can be adjusted for the patient. It's normal to experience some discomfort with vacuum therapy, however, there should be no pain involved. Some clients may also experience a warm sensation for a few hours post-treatment.

Q: How often do I need treatments?

Typically 6-12 treatments are recommended per area treated,. These treatments can be spaced 3-14 days apart depending on availability and finances. The client should be committed to a healthy lifestyle in between sessions to avoid undoing the work that was done during the treatment.

Body Contouring Post Care: Avoid

Alcohol: Alcohol can affect the liver and its role in fat metabolism. This can impair the way that your body stores fat. Alcohol is also a diuretic which means it can dehydrate the body. When the body is dehydrated it will store retain water to preserve what it needs to function. this can cause bloating and water retention.

Caffeine: Much like alcohol, caffeine is a diuretic. This causes dehydration and leads to water retention. this can also inhibit the lymphatic system from completing its task of detoxifying the waste from the fat.

Junk Foods: Body contouring is a way to break down and eliminate the stored byproducts in the fat cells.

This helps reduce their size and inches. However much like a balloon, these fat cells can increase in size again if not fueled with appropriate nutrients

Body Contouring Post Care: Increase

Water Intake: Our bodies are made up of 60-70% water. Water helps reduce cravings and helps with the detoxification process.

Bowel and Urine: Your client may find they are using the bathroom more frequently. If pressure was placed on the abdomen it may have encouraged the movement of fecal matter through the intestinal tract. Pressure on the bladder and lots of water will increase urination.

Protein Intake: Protein is the number one building block in muscle tissue. it also helps encourage collagen synthesis. Encouraging a protein rich meal after treatment will help fuel muscle growth.

Activity: Body contouring helps put your body in a fat burning state. Typically this only happens after 15 to 20 minutes of intense activity. Encouraging any form of movement from walking to weight lifting, will help your client get double results from a single session.

Sleep: Our body begins to recover during sleep. Having a good nights rest will help with detoxification.

A client can resume with regular activities immediately after treatment. With the booty treatment it is recommended that the client avoid sitting for a long period of time.
